Christmas!

Hey blog perusers! How was your Christmas? If you celebrate another holiday, did you enjoy it this year? I had a very good Christmas, and it was an interesting one for me.

As I get older, Christmas changes more and more. It’s always been my favorite holiday, I love everything about it. I love the cheerfulness, the lights, the decor, the music, the television specials, the family time, the exhilaration of shopping in a crowd, giving people gifts, it’s all fantastic. This year, I had a hard time getting excited though. I found myself constantly feeling bad about people buying me anything, and the commercials and sales just bothered me. When Christmas did finally roll around though, I found myself enjoying just being with family and friends. I got some great gifts for sure. My family and friends really know me, so even though I didn’t ask for much, they still knew exactly what I would like! Books, flannels, and Spider-Man items galore made appearances. I gave my family and friends paintings this year, and they all really liked them! Each painting had meaning for each person I gave it to. My girlfriend and I ended up painting the same thing for each other, without knowing it!

Mine is on the right, hers is on the left. It’s the cover of The Great Gatsby, one of our favorite books!

This holiday season has already been a success. I’ve spent time with friends I haven’t seen for months, and I’ve just been a happy camper.

I hope everyone is having an amazing break!

Song I’m Blogging To: The Warming Sun by Grandaddy. (A band from Modesto that went on to do great things! Check them out!)

P.S.

I also went to Christmas Tree Lane with my family. Here are the pictures if you want to check them out!

I feel the same way about Christmas, I just felt so happy being with my family!

I love your painting, it’s super cute that you and your gf got eachother the same gift!! As an English major, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never read the Great Gatsby (but I have it, if that helps!)

    Happy Holidays!

@Alexia That does help, you should go read it as soon as possible! It took me forever to get to, but once I read it, I understood why it’s a classic. It’s a brilliant book. If you get around to reading it soon, let me know what you think about it!

I’m behind on my blog-reading, I’m afraid. :) But so glad to see you kept it up over the break. It’s a little bit adorable that you and your girlfriend painted each other the same painting.

Alexia…I am ordering you to go read Gatsby now. NOW.
