Hey blog perusers! Man, it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve typed that sentence! Three months can feel like the longest break in the world, and it can also feel like it went by in a flash. For a while I was feeling the former, but in the last week I’ve definitely been feeling the latter. I’ll admit, I’m nervous! I’m one of those people who is never ready for Summer to end, no matter how sharpened my pencils happen to be. I love Summer. Despite the intense heat I’ve experienced and the occasional dull day, I still have a hard time letting go of the freedom that Summer break provides. Thing thing that keeps me from freaking out is the thought that I’m headed forward into a semester of great new experiences. I will be growing with new and exciting art classes, as well as with my two jobs with the school. I will be learning how to paint from my unconscious mind. I will be learning how to film a documentary. I will be learning new and interesting techniques for printmaking. I will be learning how to better communicate in my interpersonal relationships. When I think about it all, it sounds so enticing!
I think I just need to take a deep breath and remember what it feels like to be productive and mentally stimulated. It’s a great feeling, and I tend to forget that when my days have consisted of slacking off with friends and watching episodes of Mad Men and Breaking Bad. I’m going to be immensely busy this semester, but I will be learning so much. My summer break was relaxed and rather calm, and I think it was the universe giving me a break before I push forward into a semester full of experiences.
Overall, I will say that it’s good to be back. It’s good to be writing to you all again. I will be able to put all of my experiences down on record through this blog, and I hope you all find something interesting in what I have to say. Here’s to another semester of living and blogging!
Until next time, best wishes! Don’t forget to be awesome!
